Bucklands Farm & Stud relocates to Chapel Stud

After 15 successful years at Bucklands Farm & Stud in Gloucestershire and having outgrown the land and facilities, we have relocated to Chapel Stud nearby in Worcestershire.

Set in the classical landscape of the Malvern hills, close to the River Terne, on over 70 acres of established prime pasture land and sheltered paddocks the original dairy and beef cattle farm will be transformed into a modern thoroughbred stud.

Leaving Bucklands was always going to be a wrench but we have simply outgrown its potential and had been looking for a while for a worthy replacement. Chapel Stud looks to fill our requirements and then some, with two large barns to accommodate the mares stabling and provide a large indoor turnout.

In addition the stud has small barns to house the stallions and covering shed, a new large oval horse walker, and room for further expansion if required.

The last ten years at Bucklands Farm & Stud have been exciting, rewarding and a real labour of love. It had grown from a ten acre small holding to a 100 acre farm and from one stallion, Hellvelyn, to three stallions with the addition of Coach House and Pearl Secret.

In 2019, we also look forward to following the progeny of our stallions. Pearl Secret’s first foals were well received at the sales, and with a superior second book he is sure to produce another exciting crop. Coach House’s first two-year-olds got off to a promising start in 2018 and feedback from trainers is that they will be stronger and better at three. Last but not least Hellvelyn continues to produce speedy winners and his best crop inspired by his top two-year-old fllly Mrs Danvers will be yearlings in 2019.

We have been so lucky to have wonderful clients who year on year have sent their mares and young stock to the stud. We hope you will pay us a visit to view these new facilities and the stallions at Chapel Stud for yourselves over the coming years.
