First foals of 2019

The foaling season has got off to a cracking start in our foaling unit at our nearby Great Ketford Farm. To date we have foaled 27 mares with over 40 still to go, and we are on target to match last year’s impressive tally of 77 fares foaled.

Enjoying the spring weather outside is Charlie’s Star pictured with her first foal, a colt by Coach House. A two-year-old winner by Hellvelyn, she is now in-foal to Pearl Secret. Another two-year-old winning mare to visit Pearl Secret this season is Kashtan pictured with her chesnut colt foal by Dream Ahead.

The last photo is of the 10-time winning sprinter Beau Mistral with her cracking bay Coach House filly.

During the spring, the mares and foals will also spend time benefiting from the extensive new grazing we now have at Chapel Stud.
