Gran Diose steps up to Gr.3 jumps victory for Planteur

Planteur’s son Gran Diose continued his winning form this season in landing the Gr.3 Prix Romati at Compiegne.

Gran Diose made all, jumped accurately and always looked in command.

Jockey James Reveley said: “It wasn’t the plan to do that, but I saw the opportunity as the tape went up and grabbed it. It’s great when you ride for people like the Carberrys, they give you orders, but also trust my judgement. He was very chilled out in front, and we were able to control the race. I wasn’t sure he was going to have enough in the tank to battle at the end but he’s hardier now and knows how to use himself.”

Trained in France by Louisa Carberry, the six-year-old has now won five of his 12 starts, four of which have come over fences including the Listed Prix Solitaire Chase also at Compiegne in March.

Bred by his owners, Luc Monet and Frederic Hinderze, Gran Diose is out of the winning mare Noanoa (Walk In The Park), a half-sister to Listed hurdler winners/performers Arenui and Tjongejonge.

He certainly proving an exciting jumps horse to follow for his sire Planteur.
